2008 Pacific School Games Volunteers Needed Now
The 2008 Pacific School Games will be hosted in Canberra from 30 November to 6 December. Competitions will be conducted in the sports of Basketball, Diving, Hockey, Swimming and Track and Field.

The 2008 PSG is now seeking applications from community members, teachers across all education sectors and qualified sports technical officials to be involved in the 2008 PSG.

This will be the eighth Pacific School Games and the first time Canberra has hosted this prestigious international school sport event. At present we have had positive responses from 25 countries as well as all Australian states and territories. A public launch of our Volunteer Program on 2 April 2008 will highlight the range of opportunities for schools and the community to be involved. For an event of this size to be successful we need to call upon the goodwill and expertise of members of the community to fill the many and varied Volunteer roles. For more information and application forms please go to the 2008 PSG website: www.pacificschoolgames.edu.au

McDonalds Sponsor ACT Little Athletics

In 2007, McDonalds and ACT Little Athletics are teaming up to help kids get involved, get active, get fit and have a great time. As our major sponsor, McDonalds are helping promote Little Athletics in television commercials, radio and newspaper advertisments and traymats in McDonalds restaurants. In addition, they are supporting kids who get involved and participate with Improvement and Personal Best awards as well as vouchers for the many parents and volunteers that help out each week. McDonalds ACT have also supplied 2 marquees to help with shade protection at carnivals and will be providing funding to support the development of coaches."
